Building the Future: One Phase at a Time
The Greenville iLAB will be a place where local ideas meet technology, education and opportunity.
PHASE ONEACTIVATE — NOW
Academy Drive Idea & Technology Hub
We are upgrading existing space within the city-owned facility on Academy Drive to create an accessible community hub featuring computers, technology resources, a media and content-creation center, space for workshops, training and idea development, and support for emerging entrepreneurs and innovators. The work begins now, using what Greenville already has to expand access and activate local talent.
PHASE TWOEXPAND — SPRING 2027
The Downtown Innovation Storefront
A larger storefront near the Ritz Theatre will bring the iLAB into the heart of downtown Greenville. This expanded location will connect high school and college students, higher-education and research partners, entrepreneurs, mentors and industry leaders, and community-based think tanks and collaborative projects.
PHASE THREEBUILD THE ECOSYSTEM — 2028
The Greenville Innovation Depot
The final phase will establish a full-scale innovation depot and entrepreneurial ecosystem designed to support workforce development, business creation, applied research and long-term regional investment. It will become a place where ideas move from conversation to research, from research to enterprise, and from enterprise to community impact.

Now / Academy Drive
Existing space inside the city-owned Academy Drive facility will be upgraded into an Idea and Technology Hub with computers, creative technology, and a media center. It will be a welcoming place to learn, create, connect, and turn an early idea into a real possibility.
02 / EXPANDBring ideas downtown.
Spring 2027 / Near the Ritz Theatre
A larger storefront near the Ritz Theatre will connect high school students, colleges and universities, researchers, entrepreneurs, and community leaders. Here, young minds and experienced voices will work together through research, think tanks, workshops, and community challenges.
03 / BUILDCreate an ecosystem.
2028 / Greenville Innovation Depot
The Greenville Innovation Depot will become a full-scale home for innovation, entrepreneurship, workforce development, applied research, and investment. It will connect people, education, industry, and capital, helping ideas move from conversation to opportunity and from opportunity to lasting community impact.
